Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic

A brilliant artist who has offered the notion of adding people of color into Old World Style art.

Art which was originally given to us by masters such as Titian, Van Dyke, Manet, George Dawe, Frans Hals and Charles Cordlier are reintroduced to us offering the subject as Black instead of White and Male instead of Female .

Each piece ask you the question the focus of beauty, power, sexuality, racism and what is menacing.

The body of work includes paintings and  sculptures with Wiley stepping out of his norm using females and his genius ornate framing bringing new light to ideas we witness everyday including one Master of Art we all recognize, adore and miss Mr. Michael Jackson.

Mr. Wiley's Exhibit is on display through May 24th.

I for one, plan to make it to the Brooklyn Museum as often as possible to witness the genius of this New Master's work.
